Event Facility 2026 FPI1/2/3 NDICI - The core business of the European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) is to put EU foreign policy into action – fast and flexibly – in a policy-driven approach. It acts as first responder to foreign policy needs and opportunities, focusing on conflict prevention and peace as well as on leveraging the EU’s influence in the world. The Service plays a crucial role in translating the European Commission’s political priorities into external action, in line with the EU’s Global Strategy for Foreign and Security Policy. FPI operates through five Regional Teams (plus antennas) in EU Delegations around the world covering the Americas, West and Central Africa, East and Southern Africa, the Middle East, and the Asia and Pacific regions. Additionally, FPI maintains a presence at the EU Delegations in Vienna and Kyiv to cover the Europe and Central Asia region. To support its mandate, FPI intends to organise a series of events throughout 2026. These events will inform the planning of interventions under the Instruments and the FPI managed activities, will ensure visibility and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of FPI actions, and strengthen key working relationships with stakeholders. The objective of this contract is to provide, through individual assignments, appropriate organisation and logistical support, for seminars, trainings, workshops, consultations and similar events needed to support the work of Service for Foreign Policy Instruments in implementing the EU political priorities and commitments globally. 81317521-Scaling digital agriculture innovations through start-ups (SAIS)-The Scaling Digital Agriculture Innovations through Start-ups (SAIS) programme is a global accelerator and company development initiative implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), SAIS also receives co-funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the European Union. Launched in 2019, SAIS aims to scale tech and tech-enabled private sector solutions in agriculture, livestock, food, climate, and the circular economy. Through its investment readiness programmes, SAIS provides tailored support to start-ups and companies to enhance their investment readiness, enabling them to attract funding, scale operations, and increase their impact. SAIS currently operates the following programmes: - SAIS Africa: A 12-month investment readiness programme for up to 25 tech and tech-enabled African start-ups, with tracks for francophone countries (PPI), anglophone countries (r-IRP), and livestock-focused start-ups. - SAIS CIRCULAR (Sri Lanka): Supports start-ups and SMEs developing circular economy solutions to reduce food loss and plastic waste in Sri Lanka, including incubation, acceleration, and access to finance. Through SAIS, GIZ aims to scale proven digital innovations that improve income, nutrition, or climate resilience in the agri-food sector. SAIS is currently commissioned until June 2029.
European Cluster Collaboration Platform- The European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) aims to better connect clusters and ecosystems across the EU to facilitate the strengthening and creation of EU value chains, use clusters as investment hotspots and implement the green and digital transition of the industrial ecosystems. As such, the ECCP provides a number of services to the cluster community to collaborate (partner search, matchmaking events, project labs, events for clusters and regional authorities, cluster exchanges, etc.) and build capacity (regular webinars on industrial policy developments, trainings, information sessions, green transition support). The ECCP also collects data to provide data-driven information and feedback for industrial and cluster policy.

Study "Economic and ESG impacts on the mining sector of the southeastern DRC related to Lobito Corridor development and the global energy transition"-The German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) and the Congolese Ministry of Mines have been long-term partners within the bilateral development cooperation framework, seeking to support responsible mining practice and good governance, both in industrial as well as artisanal and small-scale mining. The current project phase (2024-2027), entitled “Economic development and responsible supply chains in the Congolese mining sector II”, includes a project component that focuses on supporting and advising Congolese partners on the topic of managing ESG (environment, social and governance) impacts in the industrial mining sector. The present study, commissioned by BGR as the Client, shall fulfil a supporting role in this regard while also providing relevant background information. The objective of this study is to perform a systematic evaluation of the anticipated or already observed economic and ESG impacts on the mining sector related to (1) Lobito Corridor development and (2) market trends and market requirements in association with the global energy transition. The implicit purpose of this study is to provide advice to the Client’s Congolese project partners on relevant international developments in this regard and what this implies for national mining sector ESG performance. This shall support effective policy development and mining sector governance with a view to broadening global market demand for Congolese raw materials and associated manufactured products by improving and marketing their associated ESG performance features. The study may further be useful to a broader public audience that includes mining sector stakeholders, public and private prospective investors, financing parties, interested offtakers and downstream industries associated with Congolese raw materials, as well as development partners and civil society.
